Recently I have received an email question posed to me from my site which I think is the most successful “Blue Group” (I have narrowed it down to the word “blue” in the beginning of the band name)

I can only say, with an eclectic list of choices that you will need to narrow the type of music that are played by the group, how do you define success and of course, personal preference.

If you are looking for hard-rock group, you have several options, including Blue Cheer, 60 groups, which some see as a heavy metal band. They hit, a remake of Eddie Cochran’s “summertime Blues” spent ten weeks in the U.S. Billboard Top 40, peaking at number 14 in 1968. Even with a limited number of personnel changes, San Francisco’s Blue Cheer is able to deliver and make some breakthrough album.

However, if you want commercial success and longevity, we can state that the Blue Oyster Cult, hard-rock/heavy other metal band could top the list. In the year 1972, with the name of their debut album, Blue Oyster Cult combined with elements of rock-hard and intense tour to pave the way for future success.
